My artist residency at the Deering Estate in Miami allowed me the opportunity to think about how I would create art if I lived hundreds of years ago. I thought about the plants and what pigments they would make. I began exploring printing directly from plant leaves as well as making dyes from leaves, flowers and seeds. Because I started sewing at the age of nine where I made and designed most of my clothes, I made scarves, pillowcases, kimonos, and bags.
